Time to play tip of the day: “If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author and everyday you have the opportunity to write a new page!” – Mark Houlahan

Isn’t that the beauty of waking up to a new day, everyday? On Monday you could have spilled coffee on your white shirt driving to work, was late for a conference meeting, got a lashing from your boss, forgot your wallet at home and couldn’t get something for lunch, sat in traffic to come home to a pipe burst. But on Tuesday it is a brand new day to start all over again!

I WANT MY WEEKENDS BACK!

, , , , ,

I am so tired. And not just today, everyday. I wake up at 5am most mornings in the dark. I try to go to the gym just to give myself that little oompf throughout the day. I come home to shower, get the kids off to school, and then off to the office until at least 6pm (but it is usually later). Typically I work on weekends just to either get a head start on a project or to finish one. I want my weekends back and I want them now.

Back in the day didn’t the Almighty give us a day of rest? For what? So I can make lists of things I need to do on Monday.

Why do the days go so fast? It is already November! I still cannot get over the fact that summer has been over for 3 months. What happened? During the warmer months my husband and I would venture down to our boat as a way to escape and relax. Yet, I was never without my laptop or the blackberry. I cannot neglect my obligations and my responsibilities. But when is it time for me and only me?

Why is it so hard for all of us to step away from work, work, and more work?

Let’s all ban together and take back our weekends!

Worked Hard, Time to Play

, , , , ,

Every day we get up, get dressed, go to work.  We try to do our best.  Always so busy, working, taking care of the kids, going food shopping. . .

But, each week goes so fast — it’s really a blink.

The big question — how to fit it all in?

My goal — to look back on each day and to reflect that I actually had a nice day.  Somehow, to include some type of enjoyment in each day and not just work.  This is something I’m striving for.  My goal.

I invite others to share in my quest — to offer suggestions, to offer guidance.

To embark with me on a quest for quality of life.
