So, we have all been there…. the diet roller coaster where we work so hard and then give up because it becomes too overwhelming to continue.

Now-a-days there are tons of resources out there for us to learn what we need to know so we can enjoy life.  And, aside from the resources, there is a ton of support.  Those of you who may be familiar with the time to play philosophy know I have been advocating for #PeopleHelpingPeople and Collaboration = Success.  I believe that, together, we can go further faster.

I am a NYS Department of Health Diabetes Prevention Counselor.  Over the past 3 years I have “taught” 3 groups.  We started out with 20 in the beginning and we dwindle to 2.  Every time.  The program is excellent, but it is 16 weeks and it is commitment.

After 50 years of life, I know in life that there are no shortcuts.  However, there has to be a motivation and a priority from within that set us up to succeed.  There must be some type of commitment and a reminder of why something is important enough to capture our attention to pursue.  Looking at situations in our own life, it is our choice to decide if we are pleased with how anything in life is going, or, if not, how we can make a change.  Life is short.  It’s important to realize that and it’s important for us enjoy life and that it is ultimately up to us to do so — no one can make that happen for us but ourselves — not our spouse, not our friends, not our kids, not our boss (you get the idea).
